The New Town of Pahrump Website
After 3 months of design and development the new Pahrump Town website is now online and ready to serve the community. In an effort to provide the best possible quality and function to our new site we have taken advantage of all the latest technology in website design.
Although there's a lot to see on the front-end of our new site, the magic happens in the control panel or the back end of the website where most of the programming was done. PahrumpNV.org is built on a powerful custom built content management system that is driven by a MySQL database. This makes it possible for the Town of Pahrump to add unlimited pages flawlessly, and almost effortlessly. It also gives the town the ability to archive hundreds and even thousands of important documents for many years and decades into the future.
Our core content management system is a dynamically driven enterprise level, server-side application that was programmed specifically for the Town of Pahrump website. It not only drives the site with all the latest web technology, but it provides a comprehensive control panel for the town staff to add content, photographs, and make regular updates without having to learn any programming or code. Editing this site is as intuitive as using Microsoft Word, and as easy as using an email application.
The front end of the site is completely hand-coded and custom designed for the Town of Pahrump. From the logo to the site graphics and flowing rotating photographs, this site features a one of a kind custom design and logo created by Brian K Media & Design in Pahrump.
Our navigation was created to be easy to use and understand for everyone, with links to all of the most important sections easily accessible. The site and navigation was designed to be friendly and functional, expandable, and reliable, as well as a little more attractive and fun than the typical government website.
From the Home Page, you can access most sections of the site. From our powerful search feature at the top of the page, to our Quick Links on the left hand side, to our main navigation across the middle with dropdown menus to take you wherever you need to go quickly and conveniently.
The layout of the site is intended to make your visit convenient and intuitive. You don't need to be a computer geek to make use of all the features the Town of Pahrump website has to offer. The Quick Links panel features some of the most visited sections of the site making it easy to stop by for a quick check of the Town Board Meetings, our latest Vision Newsletter, or the Town of Pahrump Events Calendar. You can also check out the "In the Spotlight" section or read up on what's new in Agendas and Minutes quickly and effortlessly.
Our search feature at the top of the page makes it fast and easy to access any information on the site. Powered by Google, it's the fastest and most thorough search feature available on the web today, and it's programmed into the site to help you find exactly what you need.
Our Main Navigation panel was carefully planned, designed, and developed with the end user in mind. This is our workhorse navigation panel that contains most of the links contained throughout this database driven website. It features dropdown links separated into sections and categories for ease of use.
The Home Page is also where you will find the Photo of the Week feature. This is where anyone can submit a photograph and a short description to highlight an event or some interesting area or attraction in our local community. You can click on the Photo of the Week photograph and you will be taken to our Photo Gallery page where you can view the Town's photos along with the Photo of the Week entries past and present. You can scroll down on our Gallery page and enter for a chance to have your photo featured on the front page of the Town of Pahrump website with you as the featured photographer. While there aren't any prizes or compensation for the Photo of the Week, it's an opportunity for you showcase your photographic expertise and creativity for all to see, while acting as an ambassador in helping us to promote our community to the world.
In the right column we feature a link to the "In the Spotlight" article and the current Pahrump weather and temperature which constantly updates automatically. The pages, titles, and sections of the site are search engine optimized for the ultimate in search engine visibility on the world wide web.
While you're here check out our "I Want To" Section that provides you the opportunity to access many of the more popular areas or our site when you're in a hurry. From here you can find out about business licenses, Town of Pahrump job opportunities, check the Calendar, Enter the Photo of the Week, report a code violation and many other helpful features.

Another popular feature of our new site is the Documents section where we make available all Town of Pahrump public documents in a downloadable Adobe PDF format. You can easily access any document you might need from Pahrump Town Ordinances, to Agendas and Minutes or financial statements, and budget documents. You are free to download any of these documents you might need anytime. With so much information to offer, the "Documents" section is sure to be popular with our local businesses and visitors.
